CHALLENGE
The Big Idea
In 2014, AR technology existed but had never been applied to Iranian print media. The technical challenge was significant, but the larger challenge was convincing advertisers and readers to trust a format nobody had seen before.
Iran's first magazine to embed augmented reality into its print pages — allowing readers to point their phone at any page and unlock video content, 3D models, and interactive brand experiences.
APPROACH
Built a proprietary AR integration system for print, developed an app for iOS and Android, and created a content model where every magazine page had a 'layer' of digital experience waiting beneath the printed surface.
TECHNOLOGIES
The page you hold is just the beginning of what you can experience.

ORIGIN
Print Was Dying — We Gave It a Second Life
In 2014, AR technology existed but had never been applied to Iranian print media. The technical challenge was significant, but the larger challenge was convincing advertisers and readers to trust a format nobody had seen before.

VISION
A Magazine With a Hidden Layer
Every page of Negarine Magazin contained AR markers — invisible to the casual reader, but when pointed at with our app, they unlocked video interviews, product demos, 3D animations, and exclusive brand content.
For advertisers, this was unprecedented: a print ad that could play a video, launch an e-commerce link, or deliver a personalized message. For readers, it transformed the reading experience into something genuinely surprising.
IMPACT
A Proof of Concept for Iranian Media
Negarine Magazin demonstrated that Iranian readers were ready for next-generation media experiences and that Iranian advertisers could benefit from interactive formats.
The publication attracted significant media coverage as a technological first in Iran, and became a case study referenced by digital transformation discussions in the publishing industry.
