CHALLENGE

The Big Idea

Iran's tourism sector lacked a single authoritative reference that travelers, guides, and hospitality professionals could rely on. What existed was scattered, inconsistent, and often outdated or incomplete.

A comprehensive, beautifully designed tourism encyclopedia covering Iran's geography, history, culture, and destinations — the first authoritative travel reference built specifically for this purpose.

APPROACH

Assembled a team of historians, geographers, photographers, and travel writers to compile and verify content across 31 provinces. Built a rigorous editorial process and invested in original photography and cartography.

TECHNOLOGIES

To know Iran is to fall in love with complexity.

ORIGIN

Iran Had No Map for Itself

Iran's tourism sector lacked a single authoritative reference that travelers, guides, and hospitality professionals could rely on. What existed was scattered, inconsistent, and often outdated or incomplete.

VISION

Every Province, Every Story

The encyclopedia covers all 31 Iranian provinces with dedicated sections on geography, history, cultural practices, UNESCO sites, local cuisine, seasonal considerations, and practical visitor information.

We commissioned original photography rather than relying on stock imagery, and worked with cartographers to produce accurate, usable maps at every level from national to city-district.

IMPACT

The Go-To Reference for Iranian Tourism

IranPedia became the standard reference used by Iranian tourism boards, hotels, travel agencies, and international media covering Iran.

It was adopted by universities for tourism and hospitality education, and translated sections appeared in international travel publications seeking reliable information about Iran's destinations.
